Georgetown University’s main campus is located at 3700 O Street, NW, Washington, DC 20057. Residing in a city provides numerous transit options, and we strongly encourage visitors to take public transportation when making their way to the Hilltop.
Given that DC residents rely heavily on public transportation, taxis are plentiful. Popular taxi services include the following: Yellow Cab Company (202) 544-1212 Springfield Taxi (703) 451-2255
For those familiar with the popular app-powered taxi service, Uber, this can be an excellent alternative to arriving at the University. The Uber app can be found here: For Apple users For Android users
The Circulator buses provide alternate bus service to the Georgetown area. Buses feature a $1 fare and run conveniently every 10 minutes. Guests can choose from two Circulator lines — the Dupont Circle – Georgetown – Rosslyn line or the Georgetown – Union Station line — for stops in the Georgetown neighborhood. Please see DC Circulator’s website for more details.
If you wish to walk to campus, the sidewalks around Washington D.C. are very accessible and easy to navigate. View a general map of the Georgetown neighborhood.
Our campus, as well as the Georgetown neighborhood, provides ample space for bike lock-up while you explore the area. Alternatively, DC residents often rent bikes for the hour or day through Capital Bikeshare. Locations for Capital Bikeshare stations can be found on their website.
Parking
If you prefer to drive to Georgetown’s campus, please note that, due to high traffic and congestion in the Georgetown area, parking can be difficult. Therefore, while the University has extremely limited parking, we strongly encourage visitors to utilize parking garages in the Georgetown neighborhood. This will also allow you to fully explore both Georgetown’s campus and the surrounding area.
If you are unable to find parking at one of the locations below, two-hour street parking may be available on the streets surrounding campus; however, please be advised that the two-hour time limit is strictly enforced and your campus visit will likely exceed two hours.
Below you will find a list of parking garages within walking distance of the University. Additionally, for those familiar with the popular parking service, Spothero, this can be a helpful resource for finding discounted parking in the neighborhood.
